Ankara and Manisa Municipalities Expand Bus Fleets

Ankara Metropolitan Municipality has added 20 new diesel‑powered OTOKAR Kent LF buses to its EGO fleet – ten 12‑metre solo buses with 70 seats and ten 18‑metre articulated buses with 150 seats – raising the city’s bus count to 1,999. The expansion is part of a plan to introduce 569 new vehicles between 2019 and 2026 to improve capacity and comfort for millions of passengers.

Manisa Metropolitan Municipality also broadened its public‑transport fleet, placing 14 additional buses into service and bringing the total number of new vehicles acquired this year to 26. The new buses will operate in the city centre and across the districts of Akhisar, Demirci, Gördes, Kırkağaç, Salihli, Saruhanlı, Selendi, Soma and Turgutlu, aiming to provide more reliable service in rural neighbourhoods.

Both cities say the upgrades are intended to reduce traffic congestion, enhance passenger comfort, and modernise municipal transport under challenging economic conditions.
