Turkish industry leaders address NATO procurement and economic stability

Various Turkish chambers of commerce and industry held monthly meetings to address economic challenges and strategic opportunities.

Seyit Ardıç, President of the Ankara Chamber of Industry (ASO), emphasized the need to integrate Ankara’s industrial requirements into NATO’s defense procurement implementation plans. He highlighted the growing importance of sectors such as defense, cybersecurity, satellite systems, and artificial intelligence in the new era of global competition.

Yusuf Hacısüleyman, President of the Antalya Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ATSO), stressed that tourism success should be measured by per capita spending and total revenue rather than just visitor numbers. He also warned of the risks of early deindustrialization and the need for increased predictability to combat economic uncertainty and inflation.

In Samsun, Salih Zeki Murzioğlu of the Samsun Chamber of Commerce and Industry (TSO) noted that economic independence is vital and highlighted the necessity of low-carbon production to remain competitive under the European Union’s Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism. Meanwhile, the Erzurum Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ETSO) focused on strengthening local industrial infrastructure and vocational training collaborations.
