Ankara holds memorial for Gazan victims

A memorial ceremony was held at Karşıyaka Cemetery in Ankara to honor Gazan individuals who were brought to Turkey for medical treatment following the October 7 Aksa Freedom movement but subsequently passed away.

During the event, Palestinian academic Zahir Elbek expressed gratitude to the Republic of Turkey for its hospitality and generosity toward the victims. Elbek addressed the ongoing situation in Gaza, stating that the conflict has lasted over a thousand days and has resulted in more than 100,000 martyrs, including approximately 30,000 children and 18,000 women. He characterized the actions of Israel as a systematic genocide and emphasized the continuous loss of life in the region. The program concluded with prayers and slogans against the genocide.
