Memorials for Gaza victims in Turkey

Overview

Memorial ceremonies have been held in Turkey to honor victims of the conflict in Gaza.

In Kayseri, health professionals and students organized an event at Talas Gazzeli Çocuklar Parkı. The commemoration featured a 12-meter banner listing the names of 16,000 children. Organizers noted that between October 7, 2023, and October 19, 2025, approximately 18,500 children were among the 60,000 Palestinians killed in Gaza. In response to the event, the Dean of Erciyes University Faculty of Medicine announced plans for a park and afforestation project to preserve the memory of the deceased.

In Ankara, a ceremony was conducted at Karşıyaka Cemetery for Gazan individuals who died in Turkey after being brought there for medical treatment. During the program, Palestinian academic Zahir Elbek characterized the situation as a “systematic genocide,” stating that the conflict had resulted in more than 100,000 martyrs, including approximately 30,000 children and 18,000 women.
