Ankara Metropolitan Municipality hosts heritage event for youth
Ankara Metropolitan Municipality organized the ‘Ankara Heritage: An Evening in the Museum’ event to introduce the capital’s historical and cultural values to younger generations. The program, a collaboration between the Department of City History, Promotion and Tourism and the Department of Youth and Sports Services, allowed participants to explore Ankara’s historical fabric with expert guides.
The cultural route included visits to iconic landmarks such as Ankara Castle, Sultan Alaeddin Mosque, and the Arslanhane (Ahi Şerafeddin) Mosque, which is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site. The event concluded at the Anatolian Civilizations Museum, where youth engaged with historical artifacts and participated in the ‘Ankara Heritage Memory Game’ to reinforce their knowledge of the city’s cultural history through interactive play.
