Ankara to host Antique Goods Days in October

The Anadolu Antikacıları Derneği (Anatolian Antique Dealers Association) will host ‘Antique Goods Days’ in Ankara on October 10-11. The event will take place at the Kuzu Effect AVM.

Şükrü Sarı, President of the association, noted that the decision to hold a larger, longer event in a wider space was driven by high demand. The association has organized the Ayrancı Antique Market for 22 years, which has recently increased its frequency to twice a month due to popularity. The upcoming event will feature select items such as hand-woven historical carpets, rare gramophones, medals, and Ottoman-era copperware.

Experts and dealers noted a growing interest in antiques, particularly among younger generations. Collector and researcher Necati Doğan highlighted that interest in items like coins, medals, badges, and black-and-white photographs is increasing, serving as a bridge between the past and the future.
