Ankara’s TUSAŞ Vocational School Prepares Students for Turkey’s Defense Industry

The TUSAŞ Şehit Hakan Gülşen Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School in Kızılcahamam, Ankara, is training students to become engineers, technicians and experts for Turkey’s defense sector. Through a close protocol with the aerospace company TUSAŞ, pupils receive hands‑on training, participate in technology competitions, and undertake internships that can lead directly to employment at the manufacturer of aircraft such as the HÜRJET, HÜRKUŞ and ANKA. Students report that working on scale models of these aircraft and gaining practical skills give them a sense of pride and a clear career path. The school also runs Erasmus projects, sending groups of learners to countries like Denmark, Germany, Hungary and France for additional experience.

The programme is highlighted as part of a broader push to supply qualified personnel to the growing defence, electronics and IT sectors in Turkey, with graduates frequently hired by TUSAŞ after completing their studies.
