TEKNOFEST 2026 technology competitions held in Diyarbakır and Şanlıurfa

TEKNOFEST 2026 is currently hosting technology competitions across Southeast Anatolia, with major events taking place in Diyarbakır and preparations underway for the upcoming festival in Şanlıurfa scheduled for September 30 to October 4.

In Diyarbakır, Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır and Baykar Chairman Selçuk Bayraktar visited competition sites at Dicle University and the Mesopotamia Fair Center. The event features 677 finalist teams and approximately 2,925 young participants from Turkey and 12 other countries, competing in categories such as artificial intelligence, biotechnology, and aviation. During the visit, a new National Technology Workshop was inaugurated at Dicle University to enhance youth access to technical training.

Additionally, Minister Kacır attended ceremonies in the Diyarbakır Organized Industrial Zone to launch 20 regional development projects and sign protocols for eight new agricultural and technology initiatives supported by the GAP Regional Development Administration.

In Şanlıurfa, preparations for the TEKNOFEST Southeast festival are nearing completion at the GAP Airport. Local businesses are preparing to host tens of thousands of expected visitors, highlighting the city's gastronomy and historical sites like Göbeklitepe alongside the technological festivities.
