Şanlıurfa records highest participation in summer Quran courses

In Şanlıurfa, Turkey, summer Quran courses reached a record-breaking participation level, with 100,612 children attending the programs. This marks the first time the number of participants has exceeded 100,000 in the province.

Organized through a collaboration between the Şanlıurfa Provincial Mufti Office and the Şanlıurfa Metropolitan Municipality, the courses were held across 2,086 locations, including 1,690 mosques and 396 Quran courses. The curriculum provided instruction in the Quran, basic religious knowledge, and moral education.

To support the large number of students, 2,831 classrooms were utilized, staffed by 2,831 instructors. İbrahim Halil Aslan, the Acting Provincial Mufti of Şanlıurfa, noted that the 2026 summer period achieved an all-time record for the provincial Mufti Office.
