Şanlıurfa prepares to host TEKNOFEST Güneydoğu

TEKNOFEST Güneydoğu is scheduled to take place in Şanlıurfa at the GAP Airport from September 30 to October 4. Organized by the Ministry of Industry and Technology, the T3 Foundation, and Defense Technologies Engineering and Trade Inc., the festival is expected to attract over one million visitors.

Şanlıurfa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mehmet Kasım Gülpınar has been overseeing infrastructure preparations at the airport site. Significant works include the installation of a water and sewage system capable of serving 350,000 people daily, which required transporting water from 7.5 kilometers away. Additionally, approximately 136,000 square meters of hot asphalt work has been conducted to improve transportation and landscaping around the venue.

The event aims to showcase Turkey's next-generation technologies alongside the region's cultural heritage, including sites like Göbeklitepe. The festival will feature science and technology competitions, air shows, and various workshops designed to foster interest in scientific fields among young people.
