ANMAT bans specific insulin pump supplies following theft

Argentina's National Administration of Drugs, Foods and Medical Technology (ANMAT) has prohibited the use, sale, and distribution of specific medical devices following reports of theft. The measure aims to prevent the circulation of products where traceability, storage conditions, and handling can no longer be guaranteed.

The ban, established via Disposition 5979/2026, targets specific units of three medical products registered under Medtronic Latin America Inc.: Paradigm 3.0 ml reservoirs, MiniMed subcutaneous infusion sets, and Guardian 4 sensors. These devices are used for insulin administration via infusion pumps and continuous glucose monitoring for individuals with diabetes. The restriction is limited to the specific identified batches and does not constitute a general restriction on all products from the manufacturer.
