Anmol Vasistha receives three-year doping ban

The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) has issued a three-year ban to Indian para athlete Anmol Vasistha following a positive test for a prohibited anabolic steroid. The violation occurred during the New Delhi World Para Athletics Grand Prix in March 2026.

Vasistha tested positive for a metabolite of dehydrochloromethyl-testosterone (DHCMT) during the men’s javelin throw F55 event. DHCMT is listed as a prohibited substance by the World Anti-Doping Agency. The athlete, who was provisionally suspended in April, has accepted the anti-doping rule violation.

The three-year ineligibility period spans from April 24, 2026, to April 23, 2029. During this time, Vasistha is barred from all competitions and sporting activities, excluding authorized rehabilitation or education programs. Additionally, all his results from the New Delhi Grand Prix have been disqualified, and he must forfeit all medals, points, and prizes earned during the competition.
