Union Women and Child Development Minister Annpurna Devi will launch the ninth Rashtriya Poshan Maah 2026 on September 9 in Varanasi. The month-long campaign aims to improve the nutrition and health of women, children, and adolescents.

The launch event at the Rudraksh International Cooperation and Convention Centre will include Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Minister of State Savitri Thakur. This year’s observance marks 10 years of the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY), a flagship maternity benefit programme.

Key initiatives for the 2026 campaign include a saturation drive to enroll all eligible pregnant and lactating women, the expedition of Direct Benefit Transfers, and the launch of a PMMVY Toolkit for localization across states and Union Territories. The campaign will be observed nationwide.
