ANPACT and UNAM launch heavy vehicle innovation award
The National Association of Bus, Truck, and Tractor Producers (ANPACT) and Fundación UNAM, supported by the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), have launched the first edition of the “Innovación que mueve a México” award. The initiative aims to bridge the gap between academia and the heavy vehicle industry by encouraging research that addresses real-world industrial challenges.
The award recognizes research projects focused on innovation, sustainability, economic impact, and social impact within the heavy vehicle sector. Key areas of interest include electromobility, efficiency, and the development of the domestic market.
Targeted at UNAM students—ranging from undergraduate to doctoral levels—and academic staff, the competition requires original projects submitted by groups of three to five members. The prize structure includes 250,000 pesos for first-place winners and 100,000 pesos for second-place winners in two distinct research categories.
