ANPACT activities in Mexico's heavy vehicle sector
Overview
The National Association of Bus, Truck, and Tractor Producers (ANPACT) has engaged in both academic and legislative initiatives within Mexico.
Initially, ANPACT partnered with Fundación UNAM to launch the ‘Innovación que mueve a México’ award. This competition seeks to connect academic research with industrial needs by incentivizing UNAM students and staff to develop projects in areas such as electromobility, sustainability, and efficiency within the heavy vehicle sector.
Subsequently, the association shifted focus toward fiscal advocacy. ANPACT petitioned the Chamber of Deputies' Finance Commission for reforms to the Income Tax Law, specifically regarding Article 78-E. The association is seeking exceptions for companies under the Automotive Fiscal Deposit regime to protect cash flow and investment. Furthermore, ANPACT has requested that the Ministry of Finance establish reference prices for the customs valuation of used heavy vehicles to assist small and medium-sized transport enterprises.
