Ansar Allah forces encircle Taiz and seize territory in Yemen

Ansar Allah forces have made significant territorial gains in Yemen, effectively encircling the city of Taiz. The de facto government has seized control of the Taiz–Aden road between Al Turba and Safiya, severing supply lines for the Saudi-backed Presidential Leadership Council (PLC).

Reports indicate that the PLC's recent counteroffensive to reclaim territory near the Bab al-Mandab strait and relieve the siege on Taiz has failed. Ansar Allah forces have reportedly recaptured the Dubab airport and Muran on the Bab al-Mandab front. While light infantry from the PLC managed to withdraw from some areas, they were forced to abandon heavy equipment as road arteries were cut.

Taiz, Yemen's third-largest city with a population of approximately one million, remains under siege. The encirclement of the city could potentially open a path for Ansar Allah toward Aden, the country's largest port. The Sanaa-based government claims to have expelled Saudi forces and credited the local population for their cooperation with the armed forces.
