Ansarullah forces launch major military offensive in Yemen
Ansarullah forces in Yemen have launched a large-scale military operation, titled ‘Allah’s power is tougher, His punishment is more severe’, aimed at countering a 12-year blockade and Saudi-backed military buildups. According to Brigadier General Yahya Seri, the operation has secured approximately 5,400 square kilometers across six districts in the Taiz and Hodeidah governorates, pushing back coalition forces from the eastern shores of the Bab al-Mandab Strait.
Fighting remains intense as Ansarullah advances toward the Marib governorate and attempts to move beyond Taiz. While Ansarullah forces have reportedly gained control of much of the western coast, Saudi-led airstrikes continue to target military bases and weapon depots in newly captured areas. In retaliation, Ansarullah has targeted strategic facilities in Saudi Arabia, including Aramco refineries in Abha and Jizan, as well as the Sharurah military base.
Diplomatic tensions are rising following reports that Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman requested U.S. military assistance for a bombing campaign. Former U.S. President Donald Trump reportedly declined to intervene, stating that the Houthis have expressed a preference for the United States not to get involved in the conflict.
