Antalya airports undergo capacity and infrastructure expansions
Infrastructure and terminal investments are underway at Antalya and Gazipaşa-Alanya airports to support the region's tourism sector. Managed by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, these projects aim to increase passenger capacity and improve service comfort.
Antalya Governor Hulusi Şahin announced that Antalya Airport's annual passenger capacity has been increased from 35 million to 82 million. Additionally, aircraft parking positions have expanded from 108 to 176. Renovations include VIP and CIP terminals, the expansion of Terminal 2 and the domestic terminal, and the construction of a new tower inspired by Lycian lighthouses, which is expected to be completed next year.
Simultaneously, infrastructure improvements have begun at Gazipaşa-Alanya Airport. While the airport currently serves an average of 1 million passengers annually with a capacity of 2 million, new terminal and VIP salon developments are being initiated to bolster tourism in the eastern districts of Antalya.
