Turkish airport infrastructure expansion projects
Overview
Turkish aviation infrastructure is undergoing significant expansion across multiple regions to accommodate rising passenger demands.
In Antalya, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure is managing projects at Antalya and Gazipaşa-Alanya airports. Antalya Airport’s annual capacity is being increased from 35 million to 82 million, with aircraft parking positions expanding from 108 to 176. Renovations include terminal expansions and a new tower inspired by Lycian lighthouses. Meanwhile, Gazipaşa-Alanya Airport is initiating terminal and VIP salon developments to support tourism in eastern Antalya.
In Malatya, the construction of a new terminal and supporting facilities at Malatya Airport has reached 93 percent completion. The project will expand the facility to 26,765 square meters, raising annual passenger capacity to 2.5 million. Improvements include expanded VIP and CIP areas, increased aircraft parking, and new utility infrastructure such as a heating center and treatment plant.
