Turkish municipalities launch infrastructure and environmental initiatives

Various municipalities across Turkey are implementing infrastructure and environmental initiatives. In Antalya, a protocol between Antalya Metropolitan Municipality and Korkuteli Municipality will introduce the ‘Eco-Friendly Farmer Card’ to the eighth district. This project aims to prevent agricultural pesticide packaging from contaminating soil and water by facilitating recycling. Additionally, Antalya will provide 11,000 tons of hot asphalt, valued at 40 million TL, to support road works in Korkuteli.

In Melikgazi, hot asphalt works are underway in the Bağpınar neighborhood to improve rural transportation safety and comfort. Similarly, in Manisa, the Yunusemre district's Emlakdere neighborhood received 2 kilometers of hot asphalt to accommodate heavy vehicle traffic near the Organized Industrial Zone. In Yüksekova, the Kuruköy neighborhood is undergoing its first asphalt paving in 40 years to resolve long-standing dust and mud issues.

Other regional efforts include Konya, where extensive road maintenance and bicycle path construction are ongoing, and Mersin, where the municipality is utilizing its own workshops for maintenance and production to increase cost savings. In Ardeşen, new protocols have been signed with the Eastern Black Sea Development Agency (DOKA) to manage waste in fishing harbors and document local traditional products.
