Antalya authorities detain offenders and seize assets in beggar crackdown and fraud bust

In the Aksu district of Antalya, municipal police conducted a beggar enforcement operation, apprehending 18 individuals for illegal street activities. Authorities confiscated 94 bottles of perfume and rescued two rabbits used in a scam, handing them over to the Antalya Zoo. The detained were fined under article 32 of the Turkish Penal Code, with Zabıta chief Kaan Aydın emphasizing a "zero‑tolerance" stance toward begging and related disturbances.

Separately, Antalya police dismantled an organised fraud network targeting foreign nationals in Europe. Thirteen suspects were arrested, five of whom were detained. The operation seized property worth 51.5 million TL—including seven real‑estate units and twelve movable assets—plus 4.5 million euros in illicit proceeds. Police also recovered three unregistered firearms, ammunition, electronic equipment, cash totalling 4,964,160 TL, and other items, in collaboration with MASAK and Interpol.
