Antalya holds water management talks for urban and industrial sectors

The Antalya Commodity Exchange (ATB) held the second Antalya Water Dialogue meeting, focusing on urban and industrial water management. This session serves as a precursor to the upcoming Water Summit scheduled for September 23.

Ali Çandır, President of the ATB, emphasized that water security is a collective responsibility involving all residents, not just specific sectors or public institutions. He stated the goal is to create an applicable and measurable roadmap to ensure water is passed to future generations without depletion. The insights gathered from these dialogues will form the basis of Antalya's water action plan, which officials intend to present globally at COP31.

Hasan Ali Gönen, President of the Antalya Organized Industrial Zone, noted that managing water amidst climate change and drought is no longer strictly an environmental issue, but a matter of economic resilience, food security, and urban stability. The discussions covered wastewater management, urban water efficiency, and industrial water usage to address the needs of agriculture, tourism, and industry.
