Antalya Metropolitan Municipality participates in marine sustainability seminar in Xiamen, China

Antalya Büyükşehir Belediyesi sent two experts—Chemist Dr. Merih Zeynep Çetin and Marine Engineer İpek Korlu—to the "Seminar on Protection and Sustainable Use of Marine Resources for Developing Countries" held in Xiamen, China. The event was organized by the Fujian Ocean Science Institute and sponsored by China’s Ministry of Commerce. During the seminar the delegates received training on marine resource protection, coastal zone management, blue‑economy applications, climate‑change impacts on marine ecosystems, and nature‑based solutions. They also presented Antalya’s own initiatives on green‑space management, biodiversity conservation and climate‑adaptation projects, sharing experiences with international participants. The knowledge gained is intended to support Antalya’s ongoing environmental sustainability and climate‑resilience efforts.
