Antalya municipal leaders push green projects and cultural solidarity
Antalya Büyükşehir Belediye Başkan Vekili Büşra Özdemir highlighted the city’s environmental and climate‑change work, noting that solar power plants and low‑carbon transport measures are expected to prevent about 4,750 tonnes of CO₂ emissions per year. The municipality has received 32 environmental awards and operates dozens of wastewater‑treatment facilities, artificial reef projects and other initiatives to protect water resources and marine ecosystems.
Kepez Mayor Mesut Kocagöz attended traditional picnic events with the Vanlılar and Bitlis hometown associations, stating, "Antalya is a city where citizens from all 81 provinces live in brotherhood, and cultural diversity is our strength." He stressed the role of such associations in preserving cultural heritage and fostering social cohesion.
