Antalya Municipality Tightens Bus Air‑Conditioning Checks Ahead of Summer Heat

The Antalya Metropolitan Municipality has intensified inspections of public buses as summer temperatures rise. Teams from the Transport Directorate are stopping buses at stops and along routes to verify that air‑conditioning units are functioning and that other safety standards, such as wheelchair ramps, interior layout, and hygiene conditions, meet legal requirements. Vehicles with non‑working or faulty air‑conditioning are recorded and drivers or owners receive warnings, with legal procedures initiated for repeated violations. The municipality says the inspections will continue throughout the season to ensure comfortable and safe travel for passengers during the hottest months.
