Antalya prepares for COP31 with local olive gifts and corporate climate support
Preparations are underway in Antalya for the COP31 United Nations Climate Change Conference, scheduled for November 9–20, 2026. Local agricultural producers plan to use the event to showcase regional products, specifically the geographically indicated Tavşan Yüreği olives. Zafer Tan, representing Büyükakça Zeytincilik ve Zeytinyağları, announced that portions of the olive harvest will be prepared in small jars as gifts for international guests to promote Antalya’s agricultural value.
Tan noted that recent drought conditions have delayed the ripening process of the olives. Currently, the harvest consists largely of green olives, with an oil yield of approximately 14 percent, which is expected to increase as the season progresses.
In the corporate sector, Sinpaş Holding has announced its participation in COP31 as a ‘Climate Supporter.’ The holding intends to present its sustainability initiatives across various sectors, including renewable energy, industry, real estate, and tourism, to an international audience.
