Antalya Probe Leads to 10 New Arrests in Municipal Procurement Corruption

The Antalya Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office has expanded its investigation into alleged bid‑rigging, bribery, and money‑laundering involving the ANSET company’s public‑tender contracts. Charges include manipulation of procurement processes, illicit enrichment and falsifying documents. A joint operation by the anti‑organized‑crime unit resulted in ten additional detentions, among them the spouse and mother‑in‑law of former municipal General Secretary Cansel Tuncer and several municipal employees.

The probe follows earlier raids in April and May that saw 35 and 25 suspects arrested, with two of the latter group later jailed. Authorities estimate the irregularities caused a loss of roughly 113 million Turkish lira to the public purse. Financial analyses of assets linked to Cansel Tuncer uncovered unexplained large‑value transfers, prompting further scrutiny of his family members.

The investigation continues as prosecutors interrogate the newly detained individuals and examine the procurement documents for additional irregularities.
