Antalya tourism sees record daily arrivals and high August occupancy
Antalya is experiencing a peak tourism period, with high occupancy rates reported in August. On August 1, the city reached a daily record of 103,200 foreign visitors. In high-quality facilities, occupancy rates for August have exceeded 90-95%.
Hakan Saatçioğlu, President of the Professional Hotel Managers Association (POYD), noted that while there has been a recovery since July, the total number of foreign visitors from January to July was approximately 7% lower than the same period last year. He emphasized that high occupancy in August does not fully offset the losses experienced in the earlier months of the season and highlighted that profitability and pricing remain critical concerns.
Market data shows fluctuations in key source markets. For the first seven months of the year, visitor numbers from Russia decreased by approximately 2.4%, Germany by 6%, and the United Kingdom by 12% compared to the previous year. However, a recovery was observed in the Russian market during July.
