Antalya surpasses 10 million foreign tourist arrivals

Antalya has surpassed 10 million foreign tourist arrivals between January 1 and August 21, marking a significant milestone for the Mediterranean tourism hub. The primary markets driving this growth remain Russia and Germany, followed by the United Kingdom, Poland, and the Netherlands.

Despite the high volume of visitors, Kaan Kaşif Kavaloğlu, President of the Mediterranean Tourist Hoteliers and Operators Association, noted that current numbers are approximately 6 percent behind last year's figures. He expressed concerns regarding a potential loss of 1 million tourists by the end of the year.

Looking ahead, the city is preparing for major international events, including the 77th International Astronautical Congress in Belek this October and the COP31 United Nations Climate Change Conference in November. Local officials and industry leaders are coordinating efforts to ensure these large-scale organizations contribute significantly to the regional economy and infrastructure.
