Antalya tourism reaches 12.5 million arrivals amid regional security concerns

Antalya, a major Mediterranean tourism hub in Türkiye, recorded approximately 12.48 million international visitors during the first nine months of the year. While this represents a 5.6% decline compared to the previous year, the region saw increased numbers of visitors from Russia, Ukraine, Hungary, and Uzbekistan. When including domestic travelers, total arrivals in Antalya reached roughly 13.33 million.

Despite the region's popularity, security concerns persist due to regional tensions. The German Foreign Office has noted a tense security situation in certain border regions, particularly given Türkiye's 530-kilometer border with Iran. Recent geopolitical instability, including military actions involving the US and Iran, has led to incidents such as the interception of Iranian missiles in Turkish airspace and an armed attack near the Israeli Consulate in Istanbul.
