Antalya hotels fully booked as COP31 approaches

Antalya’s tourism season hit a peak in July, with hotels reported as completely full and occupancy expected to remain high through August, September and October. Officials said the city welcomed tourists from about 200 countries, totaling more than 6.5 million foreign visitors in the first half of the year. KETOB president İlhan Arıdıcı noted, “By July, virtually all facilities are full,” and added that the upcoming congress tourism and the United Nations climate summit (COP31) in November will extend the season to the end of the month.

The city also experienced an unexpected July rain shower that briefly caught tourists off guard, but overall demand stayed robust. Preparations for COP31, scheduled for 9‑20 November, have driven a surge in bookings, especially in historic Kaleiçi and luxury areas such as Belek and Kundu, where many hotels have already stopped accepting further reservations. Hotel occupancy rates are approaching 100 percent for the summit period, underscoring the economic significance of the event for Antalya’s hospitality sector.
