Buzău hosts month-long International Arts Festival 2026

The Buzău International Arts Festival (BIAF) 2026 has commenced, transforming Buzău into a month-long cultural hub. The festival features film, theater, music, and photography competitions across more than 10 locations. Notable performers include Eurovision representative Alexandra Căpitănescu. The event is supported by the Buzău City Hall and County Council, with organizers expecting over 100,000 participants. Many events are offered free of charge to the public.

In related cultural news, actor Ștefan Craiu promoted the AnTanTe festival from Buzău at the Circostrada European meeting during the Sibiu International Theatre Festival (FITS). The presentation aimed to connect Romanian cultural initiatives with European networks and funding opportunities.

In the tourism sector, the Romanian seaside reported 100% occupancy rates during recent weekends, with over 210,000 visitors to the Black Sea coast. This surge is attributed to private investments in hotels and infrastructure. However, authorities reported two drownings near the Olimp cliff area.

Additionally, the #BeHealthy Festival 2026, organized by World Class, is scheduled for September 26 at the National Library in Bucharest, focusing on sports and healthy living through various community classes and running races.
