Antapaccay maintains copper production targets in Peru

Antapaccay, a mining complex located in the Espinar province of Cusco, has confirmed its intention to maintain a steady copper production of approximately 130,000 metric tons annually. CEO Karim Batallanos noted that the operation remains a strategic asset for the Glencore group, utilizing technological innovations such as autonomous drills and automated process controls to maintain high availability despite declining ore grades.

In conjunction with its mining operations, the company’s Economic Development Program (PDE) continues to support local agriculture. In 2025, the program provided technical assistance to 3,147 producers, focusing on animal health, genetic improvement, and pasture production. This initiative has facilitated the installation of over 2,400 hectares of forage oats and 450 hectares of perennial grasses, helping families secure food sources and income through livestock products like milk, meat, and wool.
