Spanish media undergoes shifts with Cadena SER changes and À Punt rating growth

The Spanish media landscape is undergoing significant shifts. Cadena SER, part of the Prisa group, has launched a new programming campaign titled ‘El sonido de la vida’ to strengthen its emotional connection with listeners through a multi-platform approach.

Simultaneously, the broadcaster is experiencing internal restructuring. Journalist Javier Ruiz has departed Cadena SER to become the editorial director of the new television channel, La Séptima. His departure, which includes the end of the ‘Hora 25 de los Negocios’ segment, has sparked debate regarding the station’s direction and the loss of established voices.

In regional broadcasting, the Valencian public channel À Punt reported its best summer audience ratings since 2022. The network reached approximately 2.4 million viewers during July and August, driven largely by its news coverage of heatwaves, forest fires, and the Ceuta conflict.
