Anthony Fauci Receives Broad Medical Support Ahead of Senate Hearing
Dr. Anthony Fauci, the former director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, was subpoenaed to testify before the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee. In the days leading up to the hearing, several public‑health and scientific organizations issued letters of support. Stefano Bertuzzi, CEO of the American Society for Microbiology, praised Fauci’s career and called his work the "gold standard." The AIDS Vaccine Advocacy Coalition also submitted a letter urging the committee to cease what it described as "harassment" of Fauci. The American Public Health Association warned that the hearing, combined with federal agency cuts, could undermine public health in the United States.
A separate commentary alleges that President Joe Biden issued a pre‑emptive pardon protecting Fauci from COVID‑19‑related criminal prosecution and characterises Fauci as responsible for a "mass casualty event" linked to pandemic policies. The piece calls for apologies to those it says were harmed by Fauci’s actions.
