Anthony Ippolito to star in Sylvester Stallone biopic “I Play Rocky”

The film “I Play Rocky,” directed by Peter Farrelly and produced by Amazon MGM Studios, chronicles the early career struggles of Sylvester Stallone. The biopic focuses on the period when Stallone, a struggling actor, wrote the script for “Rocky” and fought to both own the story and star in the lead role.

Anthony Ippolito stars as Stallone, portraying the actor's journey from financial hardship—including periods of homelessness—to his refusal to sell the script to studios unless he was cast as the protagonist. The film explores the pivotal moment Stallone turned down a significant sum of money to maintain control over the character that would eventually launch a massive cinematic franchise.
