Anthrax releases new video for “The Edge of Perfection” from upcoming album Cursum Perficio

Anthrax has issued the official music video for “The Edge of Perfection,” the second single from their long‑awaited twelfth studio album, Cursum Perficio, slated for release on 18 September 2026. The video, directed by Oscar‑winning filmmaker Joel Harlow, blends a cinematic horror aesthetic with live performance clips and features martial‑artist Wes Scarpias, actress Ashley Edner‑Tancharoen, actors Troy James, Rod Maxwell, Fedor Steer, and legendary makeup effects artist Rick Baker.

Guitarist Scott Ian proclaimed the track “the greatest Anthrax song in the history of Anthrax,” saying it reflects his family and personal happiness. Drummer Charlie Benante noted the music predates the pandemic and compares its impact to classic Anthrax songs such as “Only” and “Indians.” The album, the band’s first full‑length in ten years since 2016’s “For All Kings” (a Billboard 200 top‑10 entry), is released via Megaforce in the United States and Nuclear Blast in Europe. The Latin title Cursum Perficio translates to “my journey has come to an end,” signaling a milestone for the thrash‑metal pioneers.
