Anti-Corruption Agencies conduct training and investigations in Montenegro and Serbia
The Anti-Corruption Agency (ASK) in Montenegro has launched a comprehensive educational program for legal obligors ahead of next year's election cycle. The training focuses on the obligations, prohibitions, and restrictions regarding the financing of political entities and election campaigns, specifically addressing the new Law on the Financing of Political Entities and Election Campaigns. The program, developed in cooperation with the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES), aims to prevent the misuse of public resources and ensure transparency. Training sessions have already been held in several municipalities and are scheduled to continue through the end of the year.
In Serbia, the Anti-Corruption Agency determined that the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) violated the Law on the Financing of Political Activities during the parliamentary election campaign. The agency found that the party distributed promotional materials, such as leaflets and brochures, across 26 cities without including the legally required information regarding the entity that produced the materials. This violation was identified following a report in Vrnjačka Banja and subsequent field observations in cities including Novi Sad, Niš, and Kragujevac.
