Anti-Mafia Commission President calls for political integrity in Palermo

Chiara Colosimo, president of the Parliamentary Anti-Mafia Commission, issued a call for political leaders to uphold moral and ethical standards during institutional duties while visiting Palermo. Addressing recent judicial developments involving alleged corruption and the former Vice President of the Sicilian Region, Gaetano Armao, Colosimo emphasized that institutions must not be subservient to personal interests.

Colosimo also defended the Commission's autonomy regarding investigations into the link between organized crime and public contracts. Additionally, she provided a timeline for the Commission's final report concerning the 1992 Capaci and Via D’Amelio massacres, noting that the final drafting process is underway.
