Antigua and Barbuda police arrest four following firearms and cannabis seizures

Police in Antigua and Barbuda have arrested four individuals following a series of operations targeting illegal firearms and narcotics. During an early-morning raid at Green Bay Hill, the Criminal Investigations Department Task Force, the Gang and Guns Suppression Unit, and the K-9 Unit seized two firearms, ammunition, various currencies, and several electronic devices. Three people were taken into custody at the St. John’s Police Station on suspicion of unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition.

In separate stop-and-search exercises conducted under ‘Operation Restore Confidence’ in Briggins, Belmont, Bellevue Heights, and Bathlodge, officers discovered cannabis and a flare gun. One individual was arrested following the search of a vehicle and a subsequent residence search. The Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda stated that increased patrols and intelligence-led searches will continue to remove illegal weapons and controlled substances from the community.
