Antigua and Barbuda police probe two armed robberies
Police are investigating two armed robberies that occurred within a 24-hour period in Antigua and Barbuda.
The first incident took place at Brownie’s Bakery in Herbert’s on the evening of September 1. A masked gunman wearing a red shirt, red hat, and red mask held a cashier at gunpoint and fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.
The second robbery occurred on August 31 at a business located along Bendals Main Road. Surveillance footage showed two young men in hooded shirts entering the establishment, where one suspect allegedly pointed a gun at a customer while the other stole jewelry from a man inside.
Authorities have requested that anyone with information contact the Criminal Investigations Department or Crime Stoppers. These incidents follow government statements regarding a tougher stance on firearm-related offenses.
