Romania security concerns rise as EU leaders address airspace violations

European Council President António Costa has expressed deep concern regarding recent violations of Romanian airspace and maritime drone incidents in the Black Sea. Speaking in Bucharest alongside Romanian President Nicușor Dan, Costa emphasized that the security of Romania's eastern border is vital to the security of the entire European Union and pledged continued support against Russian intimidation.

In a separate diplomatic development, President Nicușor Dan received 17 foreign ambassadors at Cotroceni Palace. The meetings focused on regional security, the war in Ukraine, NATO consolidation, and expanding economic ties in sectors such as energy, defense, and agriculture. Participating nations included representatives from Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Canada, and Iran, among others.

Meanwhile, Moldova's Vice Prime Minister for European Integration, Cristina Gherasimov, met with EU officials in Dublin to discuss the country's reform progress and its path toward EU membership. Concurrently, the Russian Embassy in Romania issued a statement accusing Bucharest and the EU of complicity in crimes committed by the Kyiv regime following the summoning of the Russian ambassador regarding a drone incident in Germany.
