António Félix da Costa crashes in Monaco Formula E; Jaguar showcases Type 01 prototype

Portuguese driver António Félix da Costa retired from the first Monaco Formula E race after a collision with British driver Dan Ticktum exiting the tunnel. The contact sent Félix da Costa into the barriers, stripping the left‑rear wheel and forcing him to abandon the car. Race officials held Ticktum responsible, dropping him from third to 12th in the final classification. The incident occurred while Félix da Costa was battling for podium positions and had briefly led the race.

The same weekend saw Jaguar display its new electric sedan prototype, the Type 01, in the Monaco paddock. The four‑door GT‑style concept boasts over 1,000 hp and 1,300 Nm of torque, representing the brand’s zero‑emission flagship slated for global launch in 2026. Jaguar executives highlighted the model’s symbolic “0‑1” naming and its link to the marque’s historic racing pedigree. The prototype’s appearance underscored Jaguar’s commitment to electric performance technology within the Formula E ecosystem.
