Antofagasta Minerals CEO to Lead Expomin 2027 Mining Congress in Chile

Iván Arriagada, executive president of Antofagasta Minerals, will chair the International Congress of Expomin 2027, the premier mining fair of Latin America, scheduled for 20‑24 April 2025 in Santiago’s Espacio Riesco. The event, themed “Mining the World Needs,” will examine mining’s role in energy security, decarbonisation, AI, critical minerals and talent development, with the European Union invited as a special guest.

Separately, Peru’s Ministry of Energy and Mines confirmed that a national delegation will attend the International Mining and Resources Conference (IMARC) 2026, to be held 25‑29 October in Sydney, Australia. Minister Waldir Ayasta Mechán highlighted the participation as a chance to showcase Peru’s poly‑metallic resources and strengthen its position as a strategic partner in the global mining sector.

Both announcements underscore the mining industry's push to engage governments, investors and technology providers ahead of the energy transition.
