Antofagasta Region receives over 37 billion pesos in mining royalties
The Antofagasta Region in Chile has received more than 37.7 billion pesos through territorial funds associated with the mining royalty during 2024 and 2025. Senator Esteban Velásquez, the author of the royalty legislation, noted that these resources are beginning to remain directly in the territories where mining activity occurs.
Of the total amount, nine municipalities in the region received a combined 20.3 billion pesos via the Mining Communes Fund and the Territorial Equity Fund. Additionally, the Regional Government received approximately 17.4 billion pesos through the Regional Fund for Productivity and Development.
Calama was the municipality that received the highest amount of resources, totaling over 7.2 billion pesos, followed by Antofagasta with approximately 3.2 billion pesos.
