Monaco investigation continues into death of Antoine de Massy
Authorities in Monaco are investigating the death of Antoine de Massy, a 29-year-old relative of Prince Albert II, who was found dead on October 25 in the Larvotto district. De Massy reportedly fell approximately 13 meters from a boulevard to a landscaped area.
A 42-year-old Ukrainian national has been placed in provisional detention and charged with involuntary manslaughter and failure to assist a person in danger. The suspect was reportedly the last person seen with the victim.
In an interview with Corriere della Sera, Baron Christian de Massy, the victim's father, rejected theories that the death was an accident or a suicide. He stated, “It was neither an accident nor suicide, nothing of the sort, but I cannot talk about it now because the investigation is ongoing.”
Antoine de Massy was a former aspiring professional tennis player who had lived in Florida to pursue training before studying at Florida International University. A funeral service is scheduled for November 4 at the Monaco Cathedral.
