Antoinette Forbes: Search continues for missing D.C. woman

Authorities are searching for Antoinette Forbes, a 53-year-old Washington, D.C. resident who has been missing since September 4. She was last seen at her home on Nebraska Avenue NW. Her car, phone, wallet, and dog were left behind at the residence.

Russell Ashford, the father of Forbes’ son and her former boyfriend, is currently in custody in Beaver County, Pennsylvania. While police have not officially named Ashford as a suspect in the disappearance, he is being held on an arrest warrant for violating probation terms. The warrant alleges he attempted to pick up his son from a summer camp at American University in July, violating a no-contact order.

Court records indicate that five years ago, Ashford was convicted of severely beating Forbes. A GoFundMe campaign has been established to support the search efforts, raising over $10,000 to assist with expenses and public awareness.
