Eric Antonio Fagúndez wins Giro di Campania in Naples photofinish

Uruguayan cyclist Eric Antonio Fagúndez of Burgos Burpellet BH won the 64th edition of the Giro di Campania, marking the return of the historic race after a 25-year hiatus. The victory was decided by a narrow photofinish at the Piazza del Plebiscito in Naples, where Fagúndez edged out France's Alexandre Delettre of TotalEnergies by just a few millimeters.

The 193.1-kilometer course began in Caserta and traversed five provinces in the Campania region, including scenic areas such as the Amalfi Coast and the Vesuvian coast. The race reached a decisive turning point on the climbs of Agerola, where Colombian Einer Rubio of Movistar Team Academy led a breakaway group.

Following the ascent, a four-man breakaway consisting of Fagúndez, Delettre, Andrii Ponomar of General Store Essegibi, and Rubio established a significant gap. Ponomar secured third place, while Rubio finished fourth. Among the top Italian riders, Alessandro Fancellu finished sixth and Andrea Vendrame finished seventh.
