Anupriya Nagar confirms sequel to hit film Hanuman Ansh

Anupriya Nagar, the 21-year-old co-producer of the devotional drama ‘Hanuman Ansh’, has confirmed that a sequel is in development following the film’s unexpected box-office success in India.

Produced on a modest budget of approximately INR 2 crore, the film focuses on the life of the spiritual figure Neem Karoli Baba. Nagar, an economics graduate from the University of Bath, funded the project using savings from part-time jobs held during her studies in the UK. The film’s commercial performance led to its theatrical release expanding from 300 to over 1,500 screens.

Nagar stated that the sequel will aim to maintain the ‘simplicity’ and ‘rawness’ of the original, noting that the low budget was a key factor in its unique appeal. Her interest in the subject was sparked by research into how Neem Karoli Baba influenced figures such as Steve Jobs.
