ANZ replaces KPMG as auditor and reappoints PHD as media partner

ANZ has announced several major changes to its service partnerships. The bank has decided to end its relationship with KPMG as its external auditor, a contract that has been held by the firm since 1969. A spokesperson for ANZ stated the decision to open the contract for tender was due to the length of the existing partnership and the bank’s ongoing transformation agenda, including the planned integration of Suncorp Bank. The tender process is expected to conclude by April 2027, with a new auditor in place by the 2029 financial year. KPMG will not be eligible to participate in the tender.

Separately, ANZ has reappointed PHD as its media buying and planning agency partner in Australia. Following a competitive review process aimed at aligning with the bank’s ‘ANZ 2030 strategy’, PHD was selected based on its performance in strategic leadership, innovation, and commercial value. PHD will continue to provide media strategy, audience planning, and campaign optimisation services.
